I wasn't planning on posting until after next week, but these pics were cute so had to share.

Since Jacob has a molar coming in he had a few rough days were he had a fever and was in constant pain.  So, he was sleeping with mommy on those days.  Emily came in bright and early one of those mornings and decided to wake up Jacob while I was getting ready.  So, I turned on an Elmo clip from YouTube they could watch together on my phone, so I could finish getting ready.  This is them watching Elmo on my phone - bed head and all!

It was very rainy all day today, so the kids weren't able to go outside and play.  Decided to let them play in the rain for a little bit (well at least until we heard the Thunder - than made them come back in).  They were having so much fun running and playing in the rain puddles.  They got so soaked!!

Been almost a month since my last post. A lot has happened since then.

2. Emily had her first ballet recital. She was so cute up there on stage in her little costumes. The first song (the ballet one) she spent half of the song just staring at the sun that was the background for the song. She started to move around the second half of the song. The danced better to the tap routine - I think she liked that song better. She especially liked it when they got the part where they had to wiggle their little booties.

2 - Dean left for his first deployment. The kids were very sad to see their daddy go. We put up a map in the house that the kids can look at to see where their daddy is whenever they want to. So, that seems to be helping some. Dean has been calling as often as he can, but we don't get to hear from him everyday, so that stinks. Emily got to talk to her daddy the other day, so that was nice. Preston wasn't in the room so he missed the chance to talk, but will make sure he gets to talk the next time Dean is able to call.

#3 - Took Jacob to see Elmo Live.  Emily's school was going to see it at the same time and I got Preston in to go with the Youth Center to Medieval Times, so thought it would be cute to take Jacob and surprise Emily.  Jacob started to feel bad the day before the show - he is getting his first molar in and it was giving him a lot of pain.  He still wasn't 100% when the show time came, but he enjoyed it anyway.  He loves him some Sesame Street.  He especially liked the little light I got for him at the show.  I couldn't get to Emily before the show started - her class was late to arrive - so had to wait for the intermission to find her and surprise her.  She was so excited to see us.  Brought her over to sit with us for the rest of the show.  It was pretty cute watching her and watching Jacob.  They both loved the show, but reactions were so different.  Emily would scream when stuff would happen and Jacob would dance when they were singing songs.  Was really cute to watch them.  I am glad we went.

Thats about it for right now.  Probably won't post again until after our Disney Vacation.  Kids are really looking forward to that.

Emily and her mini-me Ariel

The next few pics are from when I took Preston and Emily to the Military Child Carnival.  They both had so much fun!

The guy that was doing this didn't want to bounce her up to high since she was little.  I kept telling him not to worry about that that she is braver than most people twice her size, but he wouldn't listen to me.   So, she didn't get to go to high, but she didn't seem to care.  She still had so much fun on this!

Just a few pics of Jacob since he wasn't at the carnival with the older two.  He stayed home with daddy.

Some pics of Preston at his very first play - He was part of the fan club for the Hare in the Tortoise and the Hare production that they did here on base.  He was super excited about getting a part, but he stayed up late the night before the performance so was very tired.  I told him he needed to go to bed, but he wanted to stay up late playing his game.  There was one part of the play where the fan club came out and Preston wasn't there.  When it was over I asked him why he didn't come out with the rets of the fan club that one time, and he said it was because he was tired and he told the director he needed a break.  Such a drama queen!

These are from the carnival that was on base this past weekend.  Preston was the only one that got to go since Emily was not on good behaviour at her ballet practice Saturday morning.  She had to get a good review at the end of ballet by her teacher to be able to go.  Her teacher did not give her a good review, so unfortunately Emily had to stay home with Daddy and Jacob.  It was very hot, so not a lot of people came out on Saturday to the carnival.  So, that was good for Preston, there was only one ride that had an actual line to it.  He had a good time until he got a speck of dirt in his eye, then he wanted to go home.  I didn't complain since it was really hot out.

This was the ride that had the long line.  In the background is EMS responding to a woman that collapsed from the sun.  She seemed ok though, I could see her talking to them.  It was just that hot out!

That should get you all caught up on events from my last post.  Jacob is now waiving Bye Bye and he is trying to say it too.  He hasn't really said something 100% coherent, so haven't counted anything as his 1st word yet, but he is getting really good at mimicking everyone.  So should be saying his first word very soon.  Still is standing up a lot, but hasn't tried to let go of whatever he is holding onto yet.  Hasn't ventured that far yet.  So still a speedy crawler!

4/19/2012

This is also more of a follow up to my most recent posts.  Jacob is now regular crawling.  Army crawling days are over.  He started to do this at Easter.  He would still revert to the army crawling every now and then, but now I don't see him revert to it at all anymore.  He is trying to stand a lot more, so I know will be any day when he will be standing up on his own w/o holding onto something for support.  He also is cutting his 7th tooth.  It is on the bottom - to the left of the middle two.  Emily had a great birthday party.  Some of the people that RSVPd didn't show, but thats ok.  She still had a great day.  Princess Belle came by to wish her a happy birthday and stayed for an hour.  She sang songs with the girls, did a craft (they made little magic wants - will post a pic), played a game (she would hide a rose taken from her hair and the girls would have to ask each other if they had the rose).  They had a good time with the game, but Emily kept trying to cheat.  She tried to keep peeking.  She was supposed to be keeping her eyes closed.  Belle also helped with the cake, then did a little ceremony and made all the little girls princesses.  After Belle left Emily asked if all the princessess' are coming to her party.  I told her no, just Belle.  She was a little disapointed in that, but she got over it quickly.  She thought she was so cool that Belle came to her party.  It was pretty cute.  Almost had a cake fiasco though.  I had a lady that decorates cakes as a hobby making Emily's cake.  I wanted a princess castle and I just knew I wouldn't have enough time to get it done on top of everything else I needed to do for the party.  So that is why I outsourced it.  Well, the cake lady called me at noon on Saturday to tell me that her son has been in the ER all morning due to a very high fever and that she was sorry but had no way to finish up the cake.  So, there we were 2 hours till the party with no cake!   Luckily, I had just recently found a cupcake bakery (signed up Pretson to do a cupcake decorating class there).  So, I called these people.  I explained to them my delimna.  They were awesome!  Was told everything would be ready in an hour.  All the girls and all the parents that ate a cupcake loved them!  So, it all worked out ok.  Wasn't the cake I originally had planned but still worked out great!  Dean has so far been pulled from the deployment list - yeah!!!  So, unless things change - he will not be deploying!  He is a little sad about this, but I think he will be ok!  Preston is doing super great at school.  He is getting green almost every day.  (On a scale of green = best, yellow = need to do better, red = unacceptable behaviour, and black = you are being so bad you are not even on the chart).  I hope the days of red and black are completely behind us.  Don't like getting a phone call from the teacher to tell me how bad he is being in class.  Not a good call.  But, he seems to have gotten past all that and is doing such a great job.  He has already been rewarded with Chuck E Cheese once for getting green two weeks in a row.  He is trying to get his next two weeks in a row, so he can go again.   This weekend is a carnival on the base.  So, he is really excited about that.  Emily just wants to ride the pony.  She loves horses so much.  So, will leave Jacob with Dean and take Preston and Emily to the carnival this weekend.  Dean has no interest in going - that is why am leaving him with Jacob.  Preston might just be tall enough to ride all the rides.  If he isn't yet, he should get there pretty soon. He is getting so big.    He still thinks fart sounds are the funniest things in the world!  I think it is annoying, but I also will be sad when the day comes that he doesn't think they are that funny anymore.  I hope I still have a few more years with his laugh!   It will be a sad day when his voice starts to change and his laugh changes with it.
