As promised, on today's post is a pic of Preston in his "hot pants" for his basketball game. I giggle everytime I look at the pic. Sorry Preston!
The weather was a little bit better today. Still foggy, but the rain had stopped earlier this AM, so was able to walk to school again. Emily likes to walk to school, so we try to every chance we get. Also gives me a chance to use my double stroller - yea!! Dean had a basketball game last night, and Preston wanted to go with. So was just me Emily and Jacob at the house. Tried to get Emily to help me with dinner, but she wasn't interested. So, she helped to "entertain" Jacob while I cooked, which actually meant I will watch my movie and Jacob can watch it too. Jacob likes to "cook" too. So, I give him a couple of pots and a spoon to play with. I also put some of his snacks in the pots, so he has fun digging them out and banging on the pots with his spoon. Keeps him busy, so I can get dinner ready. I just love when we are out somewhere and people are trying to make him laugh, etc, that he will look over at me first b/f he decides if he will laugh or not. I think it is so cute that he is looking for approval/the ok to go ahead from his mommy. He even did it to Dean the other day - too funny! Nice change from my other "not listening to a word I say" kiddos. Emily is getting to be so sassy! She will put her hand on her hip and tell me that she doesn't like something. Where did she learn that?? Its so hard to keep a straight face sometimes! Preston read me a Scooby Doo book last night. He really liked it. He did pretty well, had some trouble with some of the words, but overall he did a really good job. It took us a long time to get through it, but we got it done. Made Jacob scoot to me from the opposite side of his room today. He got mad and tried to give up a few times, but I kept motivating him by playing with a few of his toys. He made it over to me though, so got a lot of hugs and kisses as praise. Its kind of bittersweet. I want him to do the things he needs to be doing to grow up, but at the same time, I want him to stay my baby for as long as possible.
